Al Murakab is a community kitchen hosted by Zawiya 97 that prepares dishes in a local and traditional manner while incorporating modern elements. Special dishes cater to events, such as tacos for Mexican night. The term 'Al Murakab' reflects how the Hijazi people used to refer to the kitchen.

Nas Al Balad is another initiative by Zawiya 97 that occurred during Ramadan in 2023. This art gallery showcased portraits taken of various locals who live and work in Al Balad, celebrating the tradition and honoring the people who have been part of the community for decades.

These curated evenings feature music, food, and crafts from different cultures. Celebrating the city’s diversity. In addition, these events honor the unique traditions that make our community more vibrant. Over the past few years, two versions of these cultural nights were hosted.

Weekly talks feature artisans discussing their craft, sharing the journey, techniques, and inspiration behind their work. Additionally, discussions on a range of important topics are led by friends of the community, sparking meaningful conversations and insights.

The initiative includes conferences, talk series, and seminars designed to engage the community and promote cultural understanding of Jeddah while revitalizing its social life. The goal is to educate participants about Jeddah in an immersive and meaningful way.
